• Schengen

  Minimum €30,000 cover, valid in all Schengen states, for the whole trip.

• UK

  Not mandatory but recommended; IHS surcharge covers NHS for long visas.

• USA

  Not required for B1/B2, but medical bills are astronomical — take $50k+ cover.

• Long-stay (D) visas

  Often require local insurance or cover for the whole residence permit.

Check: cover should have zero or minimal deductible; some consulates still ask for COVID inclusion. The policy must be from a consulate-accredited insurer — lists are on visa-center sites.
