A cheap 'visa-only' policy often covers nothing beyond the minimum: no sports, a deductible, an assistance that doesn't answer. Critical: ≥€30k cover, repatriation, working 24/7 assistance, no blanket alcohol exclusion (the killer of most claims). For active holidays — a separate sports option, otherwise a skiing injury isn't a covered event.
