Fuel surcharge (BAS)

Fuel surcharge is standard in long-term contracts: the rate is fixed at a base diesel price, then adjusted by the fuel change × its share of cost (~30–35% for a truck). Formula: surcharge% = (current_price/base_price − 1) × fuel_share. It protects both carrier and client — works both ways.
