Disability examination
MSEK basics
Medical-social examination sets disability group (I–III) and percent work capacity loss. Referral — from the treating physician after treatment is exhausted, or at the patient's initiative.
Documents
Form 088/o referral, passport, discharge summaries, outpatient card, test results (ultrasound, MRI, labs) from the last 12 months, work reference (for employed).
Process
Referral → MSEK (usually 30 days for review) → decision on group/percent/rehab program. Appeal — to the higher MSEK or court within a month.
Criteria
Group III — moderate impairment, work possible with limits. II — marked, work in special conditions or part-time. I — severe, self-care limited. Function is assessed, not just diagnosis.
Rehab program
Individual rehab program — part of the conclusion: physical rehab, TPK, vocational retraining, assistive devices. These are rights, not suggestions — implementation is monitored.
Re-examination
The group is set for a term (usually 1–2 years) or permanently for irreversible conditions. Re-exam — by referral before the term ends, otherwise payments are suspended.
