Stages

  1. 1

    Record the injury

    Medical records from hospital/field station are the status basis. Commander's order on combat injury.

  2. 2

    VLK and category

    The medical board determines fitness and causal link to service.

  3. 3

    MSEK/disability

    Medical-social expertise sets the disability group; annual re-examination.

  4. 4

    Payments

    One-time injury aid + monthly group payments + benefits (medicine, sanatorium, prosthetics).

Key: the causal link to service must be documented (combat injury ≠ domestic). Keep all medical records. One-time aid for severe injury is substantial; by disability group — monthly state aid. MSEK decisions can be appealed.
