Tractor registration

Tractors and self-propelled machines register with the State Technical Inspectorate (regional offices): tech passport, mandatory inspection. Numbered units recorded.

Tractor license

Categories: A1 (wheeled <3.5t), B (tracked), C, D — per machine type. Exam at the inspectorate; medical certificate required.

Special machinery insurance

Liability insurance mandatory for self-propelled machines on roads; CASCO — voluntary but recommended for expensive machinery.

Purchase documents

Sale contract, acceptance act, service book, conformity certificates. For imports — customs declaration and registration.

Engine-hour records

Engine-hour log per machine — basis for maintenance, depreciation, replacement planning. Verify hour meters when buying used.

Accidents & liability

Road accidents with machinery — same as vehicles: CMTPL policy, report. In the field — internal investigation, operator liability.

The most common mistake — unregistered machinery: fines at checks, can't insure, resale problems. Register new machinery within 10 days of purchase.
