A pallet position in racking ≈ 2.8–3.5 m² (including its share of aisles in the layout). Block floor storage — ~1.6 m² per pallet but single level. Warehouse area utilization factor is usually 0.55–0.7: aisles, receiving, picking, utility rooms. When choosing a facility add 15–20% headroom for peak season.
