Minor repairs

Leaking tap — washer/cartridge (a 2-uah part). Mixer — cartridge. Trap under the sink — disassemble and rinse. Toilet running — adjust the float or flush valve. Shut the riser before disassembly.

Dead outlet — check the breaker first. Lamp — socket/switch. Flickering light — loose contact. Work on a dead circuit — never touch wire without a tester check.

Crack — clean, fill, prime, paint. Bathroom seam — sanitary silicone with antifungal. Peeling wallpaper — PVA glue + roller. Drywall hole — a patch.

Squeak — lubricate hinges with WD-40/machine oil. Doors don't close — hinge adjustment. Drawer — slides. Loose handle — tighten screws, lock washer.

Laminate squeak — wax candle in the joint or a finish nail. Loose tile — clean, tile adhesive, grout. Linoleum — seam adhesive.
