Holiday work

What a teacher can and can't do during holidays

Details

  • Rights

Holidays are rest: consultations, camps, classroom prep — only voluntarily and with pay/accounting.

  • Summer language camps

Paid for actually worked time per timesheet — a separate agreement/order, not a 'duty'.

  • Vacation

56 calendar days for educators — usually summer; 'creative leave' also possible by decision.

  • CPD courses

150h/5yr qualification upgrade — holidays are convenient, but it's a right, not a holiday duty.

A director's order 'everyone works in summer' without pay is illegal. Legal grounds only: vacation, sick leave, creative leave, or voluntary paid work.
