Measures — Heating circuit
- •Propylene-glycol antifreeze to −30°C in non-potable circuits — never in drinking/DHW
- •Or boiler frost-protection mode: keep +5…+10°C
- •Insulate pipes in unheated zones (XPS/foam rubber)
- •Self-regulating heat cable on outdoor/attic runs + thermostat
Propylene glycol is for heating/non-potable circuits only. Potable lines must never use antifreeze — depth, insulation, cable and drain-down only. A heat cable without a thermostat wastes power and is unsafe.
