Subsidized medicines

Reimbursement programs: 'Affordable Medicines', insulin, transplantation

Details

  • 'Affordable Medicines'

Cardiovascular, type-2 diabetes, asthma, mental disorders, epilepsy — free/co-pay via e-prescription.

  • Insulins

Insulin reimbursement for all diabetics — free for children, co-pay for adults on listed drugs.

  • Transplant/oncology

Separate NHSU programs: immunosuppressants, chemotherapy — under the facility's special protocols.

  • Participating pharmacies

'Affordable Medicines' mark on the pharmacy; e-prescription + code — get meds at any program pharmacy.

If a drug is out of stock, it doesn't mean 'no program': ask them to order it; the prescription is valid 30 days (90 for chronic). Check prescription validity in eHealth.
