  Riving knife, guard, push stick on the last 30cm; no riving knife — guaranteed kickback.

• Router

  Bit only shank-to-stop; feed against rotation; large bits — only in a table.

• Planer/jointer

  No gloves, pressure combs, don't stand opposite the board exit — kickback shoots back.

• General

  Glasses+hearing always, hair/clothes secured, dust extraction on before the machine.

A machine injury takes 0.3 seconds. Golden rule: hands never in the cut line; if you can't guide the hand safely — change the setup, not your luck.
