What is Rh conflict
- •Rh− mother + Rh+ baby → her immunity may attack fetal red cells
- •First pregnancy is usually safe — antibodies aren't made yet
- •Risk grows with each Rh+ pregnancy without prophylaxis
- •Antibodies can cause hemolytic disease of the newborn
