Forest plot lease

Guide: who, how and on what terms can lease forest land

1. Define the purpose: forestry, recreation, or secondary use
2. Check available plots: public cadastral map + forest lands
3. Apply to the permanent forest user (state enterprise) or community
4. Agree on the forest management project with regeneration
5. Participate in the forest auction (Prozorro.Sale)
6. Sign the forest plot lease (up to 30+ years)
7. Register the lease in the State Registry of Property Rights
8. Submit annual use reports

Under the Forest Code of Ukraine, state and communal forest plots are leased through tenders (forest auctions on Prozorro.Sale). Lease term is up to 30 years for forestry purposes. The lessee must regenerate the forest after felling and pay rent. Unauthorized forest use entails administrative and criminal liability.
