1. Check the school's catchment area — by registration/actual residence
2. Submit application to the principal (usually from April–May) — in person or online
3. Attach: birth certificate, medical card 026/o, parents' docs, benefits if any
4. If from abroad — nostrify foreign documents
5. NUSH — interview/meet the teacher (not an exam)

Important to know

6 years by Sept 1 — standard age; 5.5 allowed with consent
IDP children — enrolled by actual residence without queue
Gymnasiums/lyceums with competition — extra requirements
Birth date — Sept 1 determines the class

Application deadlines are set by the local education authority — usually April–May. Late applications are accepted subject to availability.
