What disappears from service, what remains, and what's EV-unique
Oil, plugs, filters
GONE: engine oil, oil/fuel filters, spark plugs, timing belt, exhaust. That's minus ~30–50% of classic maintenance.
Reduction gear oil
Single-speed reduction gear — oil changed rarely (per manual 60–120k km or never). Check your model's manual.
Brakes: less, but check
Regen brakes with the motor — pads last 2–3× longer. But: less use = disc corrosion. Periodically brake with friction brakes + fluid every 2 years.
Battery: cooling & SOH
Liquid battery cooling — coolant check per manual. Track SOH yearly/before sale; keep daily charge in the 20–80% band.
Tires: faster wear
EVs are heavier with instant torque — tires wear faster and need EV-marked/high-load rating. Rotate every 8–10k km.
12V battery & cabin filter
The small 12V battery remains — and its discharge 'bricks' a car with a full traction battery. Cabin filter — yearly/20k km.
Overall EV maintenance economics run ~30–50% cheaper than ICE, but 'nothing needed' is a myth: tires, 12V, battery cooling and diagnostics don't go away. Your model's service manual is the primary source.
