Tax and local EV benefits — with mandatory currency checks
Customs clearance
EVs are imported without customs duty; import VAT has had temporary exemptions extended repeatedly. CHECK the current status on purchase day — benefits are tied to the calendar.
VAT on domestic purchase
VAT relief on EV transactions has applied in periods — new EVs from a dealer may carry a reduced or full rate. Confirm with the seller and the current Tax Code wording.
Registration fee
Pension fund levy on first registration often has separate EV rates/exemptions. The exact rate depends on car value — check at the MVS service center.
Parking
In several cities EVs park free at municipal lots and/or near charging stations — rules are local, check the city app.
Business taxes
FOP/LLC on EVs: charging costs count as fuel expenses; depreciation and leasing without special limits. The import VAT exemption applies to companies too — verify it's in force.
European benefits (for trips)
Some countries/cities give EVs free parking, low-emission zone entry, discount passes. Check country rules before travel — they change.
EV benefits are 'calendar-bound': parliament periodically extends or suspends exemptions. This page is a question map, not legal advice: check the current Tax Code wording and confirm with a broker/service center before a deal. A VAT-exemption mistake on import costs 20% of the car's value.
