Parts warehouse
Parts ABC analysis
A — fast movers (filters, pads, oils): 2-week stock. B — seasonal (batteries, wipers): a month. C — rare: order on demand, don't freeze cash.
Reorder point
Min stock = weekly sales × lead time + safety week. An oil filter sells 30/wk, 3-day lead → min ~20 pcs.
Dead stock
Quarterly audit: nothing sold in 6+ months — return to supplier, clearance sale, write-off. Dead stock is frozen cash.
Tracking forms
Incoming invoice, bay issue slip, bay return, inventory act. Minimum — part number, qty, price, responsible signature.
Shrinkage control
Issue only against an order, monthly A-group counts, warehouse cameras. >2% variance — review with the storekeeper and foreman.
Software
Minimum — a stock table with min-alerts. Shop CRMs (RemOnline and similar) — stock + car history + booking together.
