Critical oxygen hours are dawn and nights after hot days — run aerators from 2–3 AM. Fish kill (oxygen < 2 mg/L) is the main risk of intensive ponds. Grow-out ponds average 1.5–2 m deep; shallow ponds overheat and get overgrown.
