Fire safety

• Cabling

  Solar cable (PV1-F) is UV-rated, not PVC; sized by current; DC cable in conduit/tray, not on combustible base.

• Disconnects

  DC disconnect at the inverter input, AC breaker; a fire switch accessible from outside.

• Batteries

  LiFePO4 — the safest home chemistry; a separate ventilated room, BMS, no boilers nearby.

• Generator

  Fuel only when stopped, exhaust away from windows/intakes, tank with a bund, extinguisher nearby.

The main PV risks aren't panels but DC arcs in aging contacts and lithium batteries without BMS. Standard: RCD, disconnect, yearly contact check.
