Crypto wallet safety
Seed phrase storage and transfer rules
Rules
Seed phrase — offline only
Write on paper/metal, store in 2 places. Never photograph, never enter on websites, never store in cloud or notes apps.
Wallet != exchange
Funds on an exchange belong to the exchange ('not your keys — not your coins'). For storage use a self-custody wallet.
Phishing — threat #1
Signing a transaction = consent to everything. Verify contract addresses and domains; never sign 'unknown' transactions from links.
Test transfers
New address/network — send a small amount first, then the rest. An address/network mistake is irreversible.
Crypto has no support desk or chargebacks: a lost seed phrase = lost funds, a wrong transfer = irreversible. The main theft scenario is social engineering ('verify your wallet'), not breaking cryptography.
