Printing for home

What's actually useful

Organization: cable holders, brackets, drawer organizers. Repair: handles, latches, clips, caps. Kitchen: measures, stands, hooks (no food contact — FDM is porous).

Where to get models

Printables (Prusa) and MakerWorld — largest bases with ratings and print photos. Thingiverse — an archive, many dead models. Parametric generators (gridfinity, boxes) — model sized to you.

Materials per task

PLA — static indoor items. PETG — outdoor, humid, flexing parts. ABS/ASA — heat-resistant (car, sun). TPU — rubber-like: seals, bumpers, feet.

Measure twice

Calipers are a must: real-world dimensions are almost never 'standard'. Print a 5 mm test piece before the full part — a 20-min clearance check.

Selling prints

Hot categories: accessories for popular devices, custom organizers, spare parts. Model licenses: CC-BY can be sold with attribution, NC cannot. Own designs are the only long path.
