How to organize a fundraiser: unit requests, procurement, logistics, reporting

Sections

  • Organizing fundraisers

Define a specific goal (vehicle, drones, medical) and amount. Open a Monobank jar or bank account — transparent collection builds trust.

  • Unit requests

An official request letter from the unit is the basis for large collections. Contains: unit details, needed items list, commander's signature. Do not buy equipment without a request.

  • Procurement & logistics

Drones/thermal imagers — only via verified suppliers with documents. Humanitarian aid from abroad — declared per Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy list.

  • Reporting

Publish reports: amount raised, purchases, receipts, transfer acts to the unit. Transparent reporting is a volunteer's duty and protection from accusations.

  • Legal aspects

An individual can raise funds, but large volumes — via an NGO or volunteer fund (reporting, taxes). Do not collect for weapons resale — transfer to the AFU only.

Most common mistakes — collecting without a unit request and no reporting. Start small but stay transparent.
