The Ebbinghaus curve: a word needs review at ~1d → 3d → 7d → 14d → 30d, or you forget ~80%. Anki/DuoCards automate this. Realistic pace: 10–20 new words/day → 4–7k/year, a B1–B2 vocabulary. Review load compounds: 15 new/day → ~100–150 cards daily after a month.
