Timber export

Unprocessed roundwood from Ukraine has been under a moratorium since 2015 (pine) and 2018 (others). Lumber, fuelwood, and products can be exported.

Phytosanitary certificate (debarking/drying), certificate of origin, customs declaration, specification. For the EU — EUTR legality declaration.

FSC/PEFC is required by major European buyers. Chain-of-custody certificate for the processor + forest certificate for the source.

Pine lumber — €180–250/m³ FCA, oak — €400–700. Pellets — €130–180/t. Prices swing ±30% per season — use forward contracts.

Lumber — truck 30–40 m³, wagon 60–80 m³. Ports: Chornomorsk, Reni. Customs clearance 1–3 days with full documents.

Changing export rules (moratorium expanding), FX risk, border blockades. Hedge: buyer diversification + partial prepayment.
