Honey sales

Channels

Fairs and markets — top price per kg but time costs. Shops — steady volume, −20–30% middleman margin. Online (Instagram, Prom, Rozetka) — direct sales at full margin. Wholesale to resellers — fast, floor price.

Pricing

Retail price = cost (apiary/kg) + jar + time + 30–50%. Varieties price differently: acacia/buckwheat +20–40% over mixed floral. Small jars (0.25–0.5L) yield +30% per kg vs liter.

Sales documents

Apiary passport — required for markets/fairs. Vet certificate — for inter-region sales. Lab results (DSTU 4497) — an edge for shops. FOP registration — for legal store trade.

Packaging

Glass jars 0.25/0.5/1L — retail standard. Label: variety, year, weight, producer, contacts. Creamed honey and gift sets — 1.5–2× margin. Wholesale — buckets/jerrycans.

Repeat customers

Selling to 'your own' — a base of 50–100 regulars takes 70% of the harvest. Keep contacts, announce new honey. Consistent quality → price above market.

Wholesale & export

From 1 ton — exporters get interested: lower than retail but takes everything. Requirements: lab, apiary passport, FOP/farm docs. Cooperate with neighboring beekeepers for volume.
